Let’s face it - our old website looks very old fashioned, outdated and full of mismatched elements. It was very well functional but cluttered and outdated at the same time and in dire need for a revamp. As a UI/UX Designer, I feel our website is more than just a digital space, It should be a reflection of our work - who are we what we do. So, it was high time to give the website makeover so that it aligns with a new and trendy theme, innovation and creativity that Ambibuzz is all about.
Identifying the problem : The old website serve the purpose but had grown messy and overly complication over the time. Some where the elements lose cohesion and the components break at different breakpoint which is very difficult to maintain as the whole e=website was build on wix. Some of the issues that were pointed out were as below.
A. Overcrowded Layout : Too much information jammed into the one space.
B. Visual Design : A generic and uninspired look with no modern flair.
C. Lack of interactions : Limited interaction reduced the user engagement
The revamp - What’s new? : When redesigning the websites focused on delivering an experience that reflects who we are and what we do and what is our core. Some of the highlights are as below :
Dark theme : I opted a dark theme background complemented by skin accent and white for primary. This brings a modern overall look and made it more sophisticated.
Decluttered landing page : I try to make the make as less cluttered as I can by using less fonts and more visuals to give the user specific information.
Interactive Elements : Unlike the old version I added more interactive elements to engage the user more like adding micro interactions using hover effects and also scroll animations.
Responsive Design : The revamp make sure that website looks beautiful and stunning on every device be it desktop, tablet or phone.
Streamlined Navigation : The new menu minimalistic ensures users can find what they want to see and quickly without getting lost.
The Outcome : The new Ambibuzz website isn’t just visually appealing - it’s functional and immersive experience. It aligns with our mission to reduced cluttered elements and texts to visual so the user understands what we do.
A platform that reflects our Identity : Redesigning the Ambibuzz website wasn’t just about aesthetics, it was about showing who we are as a company. It’s now a space that mirrors our dedication and our vision with simplicity and excellence in design.
My learning : Although there are some comments from the stakeholders - like not using the black theme or white logos due to trademark issues, and using a more deeper blue colour as a BG colour, also adding sections if using black. So in these things we will still do our research and try to bring the subtle changes but if you haven’t explore it yet feel free to check the link of the new design and let us know you thoughts.
